Juvenile Services
Community Concern for Youth / Diversion
The Community Concern for Youth (CCY) Program is a free service available to youth who attend school districts in Todd and Wadena Counties. The CCY Program is designed for early prevention, intervention, and diversion of juveniles ages 10-17, who are experiencing personal problems as well as problems with the law. One-on-one meetings are held with students on a regular basis. The purpose of this program is to prevent youth from entering the court system, by working with youth and their families to hold the youth accountable, assist youth in finding positive ways to resolve conflicts at home, school, or in their personal lives, and provide opportunities for change. Parents are asked for their input regarding their children and their involvement is encouraged. Participation in the CCY program is voluntary and parent permission is required. For youth that are referred for law violations, community service work, classes, and class fees are sometimes required. Recreational activities, volunteer projects and educational programs are available to program participants.- CCY Agents: Dan Huebsch, Haley Buhl
Juvenile Probation
Todd-Wadena Community Corrections provides services for juvenile clients residing in Todd and Wadena Counties who commit offenses ranging from petty offenses through felony offenses, also including CHIPS/Truancy cases. Juveniles are placed in a continuum of supervision based on their assessed risk to public safety, criminogenic needs, individual treatment needs, and court-ordered supervision conditions. The supervision period can last from six months up to the juvenile’s 19th birthday. In certain cases, juveniles may be found to be an “extended jurisdiction juvenile” which results in probation supervision until age 21. Supervision consists of face to face contact, case management, case planning, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. Corrections Agents are responsible for monitoring the compliance with Court-ordered conditions. To ensure this compliance agents may conduct random home visits, school visits, random drug/alcohol screening and make collateral contacts to family members, friends or other professionals working with the juvenile.
